Today, 50 years since its creation, Star Instruments Ltd has remained in private family ownership, building on those early values of supplying high quality UK manufactured Instruments to leading OEM manufacturers and distributers throughout the UK & Ireland and across the world.
In 2011, our sales team moved to new modern offices in St. Neots, Cambridgeshire.
In 2004, all distribution was moved to our manufacturing division in Dunmurry
In 2003, Dunellen restructured as an investment arm releasing Star Instruments Ltd to develop it’s manufacturing business on a global scale.
Have held and maintained ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management Accreditation with BSI since April 1989.
In September 1973, BSS Ltd decided to change its manufacturing divisional policy, and it agreed a sale to the new owners, Mr Anthony Castle (deceased) and Col Harvey Bicker (Current Owner and Chairman of Dunellen Group Ltd) together with Ian Alexander and Star Instruments was formed. Manufacturing remained in Dunmurry, Northern Ireland and a new sales office and distribution centre was established in Cambridgeshire.
In 1965 further expansion was not possible at British Steam Specialties Ltd premises, in Leicester, and it was decided to set up a new company at Dunmurry in Northern Ireland, and Dunellen was thus formed in 1965.
